Non-Extractive Mining
Bassenge, BE, 2021
A response to the Eben Ezer Tower in Bassenge built next to a disused flint stone quarry, the project sought to explore what can be made from the earth of the area in an open and non-exploitative way. Recognizing the belemnite fossils on the ground, the sculpture made of soil depicts the extinct creature, which will slowly crumble and dissolve into the earth over time.
