Lichens

Lichens (2023) is a series of paper collages, transforming unwanted magazines into natural formations that grow organically across the page. The technique was born from the isolation of lockdown when many people cleared out their homes. Meditatively torn up magazines become lichens: one of the most primitive organisms. Each image is created by an obsessive approach of layering and repetition, resulting in a delicacy and cooperation found at the origins of nature.
