		<description>

Jazmin Charalambous (°1991, London) is a multidisciplinary artist working in the spectrum of public art, installation, collage, and performance. Trained as an architect, Charalambous creates multifaceted works that question the relationship between wilderness and civilization. With a focus on textures, layers, patterns, and materials, her work responds to ecologies affected by modern life. She collaborates as part of artist duo, Finding the Wild. With a focus on site-specific works, landscape art and architecture, her practice highlights the importance of in-between places that embrace incidents and oddities. Currently based in Stuttgart, she is developing works for public spaces through sculpture, landscape interventions and community action.

	Hedel House

Taking an ecological design approach, the compact, off-grid house is situated on the banks of the River Meuse (Maas). The house’s linear form illuminates the qualities of its surroundings; running parallel to the raised dyke. Clad with stones taken from the river and locally sourced timber, the exterior shell will develop an elegant patina over time. Construction has taken place with workers camping on-site to minimise CO2 emissions from transportation, whilst the house will run off energy harvested from solar and wind power.

	Lijsterlaan Extension

To offer a young family more living space, the scheme is an extension of their existing home in the Molenlaankwartier, Rotterdam. The extension is materialised in brick. The merit of the scheme lies in its modest details; paying great attention to the simpest joints and bonds. Natural light floods into the living space through the skylights and large sliding door. The raised terrace floor connects to the living space, creating a continuous surface between inside and outside.

	An incidental meeting of parts

Architecture sometimes does not solve anything.
Instead it can create an entirely new set of problems that need to be
fixed.&#38;nbsp;This thesis realises how techniques of theatre can be used to subvert developer-led public spaces designed for management. The resulting redesign of a vital public square as an ‘urban carpet’ takes its lessons from Peter Brook’s theatre. The carpet transforms
the landscape of Wembley Park over 90 years by establishing an
alternative phasing strategy, new standardised materials, and revised construction techniques. These methods are designed to orchestrate incidental encounters between people and place, creating a heterogeneous landscape
of difference and possibility.

		<description>
	Castle Yard of Handzame

Retelling the history of Handzame through its forgotten myth; an existing castle reveals a hidden garden. A series of chambers run parallel to the train tracks, recalling the design of a Renaissance garden that descends in degrees of cultivation from the country estate, to the formal garden, and subsiding into wilderness. Each room posesses a unique character and reveals layers of asphalt, cobbles, concrete, and grass set amongst birch groves.

	Re-staging Roosenberg

Roosenberg Abbey was built by the Dutch architect and monk Dom Hans van der Laan in 1975. It is a building designed through a carefully considered proportional system, which uses the ‘plastic number’ (4:3) in order to construct a relationship between the parts and the whole.&#38;nbsp;

In this project, the photographic fragment is explored as a way of capturing the essence of the whole. When visiting the abbey, what became apparent was the relationship between the interior and exterior world of the building. A fragment study of the entrance courtyard is investigated through photography, drawing and a 1:5 doppelgänger model.
